Shopper Media opens Brisbane CBD office

Out-of-home company Shopper Media Group has announced the opening of its new Queensland office in Brisbane’s CBD.

The opening of the new office signals Shopper Media’s expansion into the Queensland market, with head of revenue Jamie Hollebone saying the market is one of continued growth for the OOH provider.

Shopper Media’s portfolio includes over 400 shopping centres throughout Australia, with recent Standard Media Index (SMI) figures showing that retail OOH increased its share of ad spend by 4.5% in 2020.

In December 2020, Shopper reported 8.4% growth, according to SMI.

“Shopper Media has been in the Queensland market for the past four years but the appointment of Carla Vella as Shopper Media’s Queensland sales director in February 2020, and our increased number of shopping centres enabling us to offer scale within the market, has resulted in this significant shift of the dial,” Hollebone said.

“Our Smartlite panels are now in more than 100 Queensland shopping centres, consisting of 65% metro locations and 35% regional centres, offering a good spread for media buyers and marketers.

‘This aligns with a 40% increase in new client growth year-on-year in 2020 and a 21% increase in sales year-on-year in this market.”

Shopper Media CEO Ben Walker, COO Ed Couche, head of marketing Karissa Fletcher and Hollebone travelled to the Queensland office launch, to join the celebrations and and to thank clients.

Hollebone added: “Shopper Media is proud to have led the way in retail OOH with an 8.4% year-on-year growth, securing the title of highest-growth offline media company in real dollar terms for the second consecutive year.

“Our Queensland market growth is reflected in these figures, alongside our Smartlite network’s ability to deliver precise targeting and greater mass personalisation.”

Shopper Media appointed Sophie Hodgson as its NSW agency sales director last month.
