Signature Media appoints Kirstie Bedford as assistant editor

Signature Media has announced the appointment of Kirstie Bedford as the assistant editor, working alongside Cathy Wagstaff, Signature Media CEO and group editor.

The announcement:

Signature Media is pleased to announce Kirstie Bedford has joined its team as Assistant Editor.

Kirstie will be working closely with Signature Media CEO & group editor, Cathy Wagstaff, as the assistant editor on the quarterly Signature Luxury Travel & Style magazine, producing the twice-monthly Signature newsletter, assisting on other print and digital platforms in the Signature stable, including Holidays with Kids and Vacations & Travel, and working on custom titles.

Kirstie is an award-winning travel writer, editor and digital content creator with more than 25 + years of industry experience. She joins the Signature Media team from Luxury Escapes where she was the senior content producer and editor.

Prior to this, Kirstie was at Grin Creative where she worked closely with The Travel Corporation (TTC) to produce the digital publication, Arrived, which is distributed to 2 million+ travellers via its 40+ brands globally.

Cathy Wagstaff says, “We are absolutely thrilled to have Kirstie join our team and are excited about the experience, industry knowledge and passion Kirstie will bring to the role.”

Kirstie is based in Melbourne and is the first remote editor employed by Signature Media, a silver lining to the COVID-19 pandemic, which helped the team realise they can work remotely and now recruit from a larger talent pool.

Kirstie says, “I have long admired the quality publications Signature Media produces. I could not be more excited to help produce the longest-running and most respected luxury travel magazine in Australia alongside industry stalwart and entrepreneur Cathy Wagstaff, and also write across Signature’s suite of exceptional publications.”
