The announcement:

Strategic communications firm Six O’Clock Advisory has announced a formal alliance with RMIT’s School of Media and Communication that will see the industry’s up-and-coming talent awarded for academic achievement and offered places in a workplace learning program.

The partnership will see Six O’Clock Advisory fund prizes for the School’s top-performing students across two course subjects, as well as hosting site visits and internship placement offers for second and third-year Bachelor of Communication (Public Relations) undergraduates as part of RMIT’s Work Integrated Learning program.

Associate Professor Scott Brook, Associate Dean of the School of Media and Communication, RMIT, said the partnership reinforced RMIT’s reputation as an institution with strong industry connections.

“The degree provides students with high-quality education that links formal learning with professional practice,” Assoc. The support of industry partners like Six O’Clock is critical to the success of the program.”

Six O’Clock Advisory director, Jim Stiliadis, said the partnership would open doors for students interested in developing their skills across a range of contemporary communication disciplines.

“We’re delighted to be partnering with one of the foremost institutions for communication studies, reflecting a shared commitment to the industry’s ongoing evolution by providing valuable development opportunities for tomorrow’s communication professionals.”

The partnership will see prizes awarded to the top performers of the Issues, Risks and Crisis Communication and Communicating the Organisation subjects at the end of Semester 2, 2019. Applications for placements with Six O’Clock Advisory will be managed via RMIT’s Work Integrated Learning program.
