SIXT Australia says ‘truck off’ to landlords in new initiative, via Bastion
Rental truck company SIXT has responded to record rent increases in Australia with a new initiative, SIXT Rental Relief, in partnership with Bastion.
The initiative aims to help Australians who have been forced to move due to unsustainable rental increases, with a discount of the same percentage – saying ‘truck off’ to landlords.
If a customer has had a 30% rent increase, they will receive 30% off their van or truck rental from SIXT, if they’ve been hit with a 50% increase, they will receive a 50% discount, and so forth.
Simon Langley, Bastion group CCO, said the company wanted to help those doing it tough.
“Renters are doing it tough across Australia with a worsening housing crisis that has no end in sight.
“SIXT, who are known for going the extra mile for their customers, wanted to help those tenants who had no option but to move, with a dynamic discount in line with how badly they’d been affected.”
SIXT Australia CEO, Matthew Beattie, added: “This measure will help renters get a better deal and facilitate a more affordable move, at a time when cost of living pressures are crippling much of the population.”

Chantelle Schmidt features in the launch campaign
Chantelle Schmidt, a Sydney resident who amassed over 5 million views on TikTok as she challenged her landlord’s recent rent increases, features in the launch campaign.
SIXT launched the initiative in Sydney, visiting areas most affected by increases during peak rental inspection times, with trucks that tell landlords to ‘truck off’.
The integrated campaign includes activation, social, OOH and a digital partnership with realestate.com.au.
