Skoda aligns brand with 10-year-old Australian artist in new ad
Škoda is building on its brand awareness campaign, ‘You don’t have to be famous to be brilliant’, with a new ad featuring one of the world’s youngest artists, Australia’s Aelita Andre.
The new ad – promoting the Škoda Kodiaq 4×4 – sees Andre painting in a home, speaking about her work and how a “fresh perspective” is needed to create something “truly different.”

Andre’s first solo exhibition opened in New York City when she was four, making her the youngest painter to ever have work featured in a solo exhibition.
At the time of the campaign’s launch in May, Škoda Australia director Michael Irmer, said the new brand awareness campaign challenges buyers to consider a Skoda, rather than more conventional car brands.
“Škoda’s tagline, ‘Simply Clever’, encapsulates both the accessibility and the innovation of our cars and SUVs,” Irmer said.
“The brand campaign paves the way for an entirely new direction for Škoda in the shape of the Kodiaq.”
Commenting on the campaign in May, DDB Sydney’s managing partner, Amanda Wheeler said it aligned the “brilliance and inventiveness” of people with the “brilliance and inventiveness” of the car.
The campaign is the biggest for the Škoda brand this year.
What does a 10 year old know about driving a car? Utterly ridiculous.
No wonder nobody has ever heard of Skoda

I would now avoid a skoda. I have seen both ads and didn’t know they were Australians. Some old bloke who once did something and a pretentious 10 year old. What is the market they are aiming for?

This ad is so ridiculous. Whenever it comes on the tv we need to mute the advert it’s so annoying and have no idea what a 10 year old signing a black velvet song, way out of her age group.

Cant stand the ad. Girl singing looks like lip sync. Mother looks at her with blind adoration. Then boy screws up nose. Girl sings flatly. What does it all mean? All beyond comprehension.
