The announcement:

Political contributor and anchor Peta Credlin will expand her SKY NEWS role in 2017 with the leading news network today announcing she will extend her on-air hostings and commentary across SKY NEWS LIVE and SKY NEWS BUSINESS.

Peta will now be based full time at the SKY NEWS Macquarie Park studios in Sydney and will form part of the daily analysis of political events.

She will also join the Sunday Agenda program (Sundays at 8:30am AEDT) for a new segment analysing the events of the week with Paul Kelly, Kristina Keneally and host Peter van Onselen.

In addition, Peta will contribute for the first time to the SKY NEWS BUSINESS channel focusing on policy matters.

She will continue to appear regularly on the primetime SKY NEWS programs Paul Murray LIVE and The Bolt Report, and as co-anchor on Credlin Keneally.

Peta will also continue in her role as a columnist for the News Corp Sunday papers nationally.

Peta said: “I’m delighted to take on the extended role with SKY NEWS, and in particular, join the Sunday Agenda program. I have been surprised at how much I have enjoyed my time at SKY NEWS and the response from our viewers, and from readers of my weekly column, has encouraged me to accept this opportunity.”

Australian News Channel CEO Angelos Frangopoulos said: “I’m pleased that Peta has agreed to our request to expand her role at SKY NEWS and now SKY NEWS BUSINESS. Her insights and analysis are important in the broader political discussion. Clearly the audience has been impressed and in 2017 they will get even more of her razor sharp commentary.”

Peta joined SKY NEWS in May 2016 as political contributor for the channel’s federal election coverage. Her commentary gave viewers an unprecedented insight into the politics of the day and regularly drove the news agenda.

Following the election Peta added co-anchor to her on-air duties, working alongside Kristina Keneally for Credlin Keneally each Wednesday night at 8:00pm AEDT.
