Sky News wins Channel of the year at ASTRA Awards
24 hour news channel Sky News has taken out the channel of the year at the annual ASTRA awards.
The award was a one of a number of awards given to the news channel and its presenters at the annual event recognising the best in subscription television, with Sky host Paul Murray also picking up two awards for best news program and best presenter, while journalist David Speers won best broadcast journalist.
“In selecting Sky News as Channel of the Year, our independent judging panel noted that Sky News has become the benchmark for political news coverage, becoming the first and most trusted source of political news and analysis in Australia,” said Andrew Maiden ASTRA CEO.
Foxtel’s executive director of television, Brian Walsh, was the recipient of a new special award recognising his industry contribution over many years.
Hey, I am in shock that Paul Murray won two awards. I think his show is so far to the right ,it makes Fox News look to the left….. maybe his good friend Kathy Jackson got some of her supporters to vote….. sorry this is just wrong, so many more better people on Sky ….
Best new talent from the Aurora Channel. Up against the heavyweights! That’s pretty cool.
