Skyscanner sends a message of hope to travellers and releases destination-themed Spotify playlists
Skyscanner is sending a message to would-be travellers around the world that one day they will travel again, and in the meantime they should dream about the places they will go.
To help people feel a sense of escapism whilst staying safe at home, Skyscanner has developed a range of travel-themed Spotify playlists. The first eight playlists have been released, including Sonic Landscapes, Travel Folk, Ride the K-pop Wave, Brazilian Breeze and Disco Africa.
More playlists will be released on a weekly basis.
Sky Scanner will also be encouraging people to share their travel dreams across social media with the hashtag #WeWill. Sky Scanner staff have kicked off the initiative, by sharing stories of trips they had to cancel, and the ones they are planning for the future.
Skyscanner’s research has found that 60% of travellers are optimistic they will be able to travel internationally later this year, and 68% are optimistic for domestic travel.
Jo McClintock, global brand director at Skyscanner, said maintaining positivity was key to coping in a crisis.
“It might seem like an unusual time to talk about being positive. Many people are separated from loved ones and we’re unable to get out in the world as we would like. But it’s well known that positivity is a key part of successfully coping in a crisis. So by asking our employees and travellers to share their travel hopes and dreams, we want to spread optimism for the future and reassure them that when their dreams become reality again Skyscanner will be here to help,” McClintock said.
