Sling & Stone expands into New Zealand
Public relations agency Sling & Stone is expanding into New Zealand, with Marija Bijelic heading up the New Zealand office, Mumbrella can reveal.
Seven years after launching in Australia, Sling & Stone will open an office in Wellington, with Bijelic, former account director in Sydney and the first person hired at Sling & Stone, relocating to the city.
The agency will work with some of its current clients on the ground in NZ including City of Wellington.
Bijelic said in a statement: “We started doing PR in a different way to others in the industry, and it worked. We don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we do take our work seriously — and we have a focus and passion that I’ve never seen anywhere else.
“I’m looking forward to working with entrepreneurs and media in New Zealand. This country has a rich history of innovation, and we’re going to play our own small part in shining a light on that,” she said.
Sling & Stone recently partnered with global communications firm Golin, allowing Golin customers to reach Sling & Stone across both Australia and New Zealand.
Vuki Vujasinovic, Sling & Stone founder, said: “In order to work with the world’s best, we know we have to be in more places around the world and New Zealand is our first step to doing that.
“We have a relentless focus on the types of clients we partner with at Sling & Stone, which we think is quite different in our industry. It leads to deep knowledge, experience, and passion. We have a feeling our approach can work beyond our shores, and we’re excited to start showing the world what we’ve got.
“Marija is the first person I ever hired. She’s been instrumental in shaping the agency we are today, and she’s the best person to lead our office in Wellington,” he said.
Sling & Stone is currently seeking new talent to expand the Wellington office.
The agency’s clients include Campos Coffee, Slack, Xero, Domain, Sendle and Shoes of Prey.
