Sony Pictures Classics buys Animal Kingdom

Animal KingdomThe specialised arm of studio, Sony Pictures Classics, has acquired the rights to David Michod’s Animal Kingdom for distribution in the United States and Latin America. No release dates have been announced.

The new deal follows sales for the UK through Optimum Releasing, France with ARP Slection, Italy’s Mikado Films, Scanbox Entertainment in the Scandinavian countries, and Film Depot for the Russian territories.

The Porchlight Films production was financed by Screen Australia, Film Victoria, Screen NSW, Fulcrum Finance and Showtime Australia and E1 Entertainment. It will be released in Australia on April 29.
