Soto’s Crush secures UK release

John V. Soto’s 2009 supernatural thriller Crush has been acquired by the UK’s Stealth Media Group for release on DVD, VOD and pay TV.

The deal was negotiated by Odin’s Eye Entertainment director Michael Favelle.

The film’s trailer has been viewed more than two million times on YouTube.

“A cool trailer that pulls you in is the key marketing tool for any film that wants to reach mainstream audiences. James Ingham and I spent two long days cutting the trailer at Oasis Post until we reached what we felt was the perfect blend of selling the story without giving away the major twist. I’m very glad we didn’t handball the job to someone else. At the moment we are averaging 50,000 trailer views per week, the vast majority originating from Europe and the US. Clearly the film has appeal to international audiences, which was always the aim,” said Soto.

The Perth independent film was released in Australia in April 2009 and released on DVD through Horizon One Entertainment. Crush was also released in the US last year through Phase 4 Films.
