Sound Alliance links up with last.fm
Music service last.fm has signed up Sound Alliance as its Australian representative.
As well as sales representation, the music recommendation service will be integrated with Sound Alliance’s portfolio of music websites including In The Mix and Faster Louder.
Last.fm recommends tracks to users based on their listening behaviour.
Sound Alliance commercial director, Ben Shepherd said: “Last.fm has pioneered a major shift in listening habits and behaviours in Australia and across the world. For 18-30 year old music fans, Last.fm fills the clear gap in Australian radio by delivering a credible, personalised music service tailored to users’ interests.”
Locval advertisers already signed up include Red Bull, Dainty Consolidated Entertainment and EMI Music.
Lets hope this results in an Australian version of Last.fm’s iPhone App.

Here’s hoping for Last.fm on Australian Xbox Live and more functionality in the Android app, too…
I was a subscriber ages ago but cancelled when they were bought out by CBS and made all of the decent subscriber privileges exclusive to the US, UK and Germany. If we got more local content and apps I’d definitely consider subscribing again.
