Soup appoints Emma Chow

Word-of-mouth company Soup has drafted Emma Chow from M&C Saatchi’s digital agency Mark.

The announcement:

Sydney October 6, 2010: Emma Chow has joined Soup as Conversations Manager from M&C Saatchi/Mark.

The appointment illustrates Soup’s commitment to and expertise in the digital area – especially online community management.

Emma worked across the Optus, Qantas, Qantas Frequent Flyer, ANZ and EMI accounts during her time with M&C/Mark where she was both a digital producer and integrated account manager.

“Emma’s background is a perfect fit for Soup where we spread the word online as well as in the ‘real’ world,” Soup CEO Sharyn Smith said.

One of Soup’s unique assets is its vast community of influencers, or Soupers, many of whom belong to active and vibrant online communities.

“Smart marketers know reaching out to people online doesn’t mean setting up a Facebook page or Twitter stream and using them to post your latest TVC” Smith said.

“It’s about really connecting with and communicating on a deep level and putting people at the centre of the communication. Appointing Emma will strengthen this aspect of Soup’s business.”
