Southern Cross Austereo appoints Guy Dobson as chief content officer

Guy Dobson has been appointed chief content officer of Southern Cross Austereo.

The appointment sees Dobson move from his current role of head of metro radio.

The new title will see Dobson oversee the production of content for assets  across metro, regional, digital radio, TV, social media and online plus new and existing international projects.

Craig Bruce remains head of content for metro and regional radio while Ben Parsons remains the head of TV. The head of metro title will be dissolved.

Dobson said: “Director of Metro Radio was the ideal transition role during the merge.  18 months on, the company is in full swing and the time has come to pursue a path that enables me to further grow with the business.  I’m also very happy to ditch the suits and wear t-shirts again.”

Rhys Holleran, SCA CEO said: “Guy Dobson is an integral part of our business and this new role consolidates his imperative influence on our overall outcomes. He is a force in the media industry and our growing business continues to benefit from his expertise. This announcement further highlights the possibilities that come from combining two successful media companies.”

Before getting the CEO role, Dobson was group content director of Austereo before the merger with Southern Cross last year.
