Southern Cross Austereo appoints Nick Scott as GM for Gold Coast

Southern Cross Austereo has appointed Nick Scott as general manager of the Gold Coast Media Centre.

Scott has worked within the company for nearly 20 years until moving to a consulting role three years ago. He has also had several years on the board of Commercial Radio Australia.

The announcement:

Tim Davenport, Northern Regional General Manager of Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) is proud to announce the return of Nick Scott, who has been recently appointed as General Manager of the Gold Coast Media Centre.  “I’m thrilled to be working with Nick, his great track record coupled with his passion for sales and business is sure to again make him an exciting asset to the Gold Coast team.”

A well-known community figure, Nick will bring drive, passion and commitment, coupled with a wealth of local experience to the role when he commences today, Tuesday 2nd October.

“I’m delighted to once again be leading the first class team on the Gold Coast, all of whom are true professionals, dedicated to the on-going success of 90.9 Sea FM, 92.5 Gold FM, our TV brands Ten, One and 11,” said Nick, who is thrilled to be returning to the Gold Coast Media Centre.

Tim Davenport says that Nick is ideally suited to the role, adding that his “reputation in the south-east Queensland business community is of the highest order, and he’s kept pace with the massive changes the industry has undertaken in recent years.”

Nick is no stranger to the SCA team, having worked within the company for nearly 20 years.  He moved into a consulting role 3 years ago, and during this time has been involved in many key projects, including induction and training for SCA sales staff across regional Australia.

“He’s held a number of senior positions in the industry, including a group management role in our company, heading up our National Sales arm, as well as several years on the board of Commercial Radio Australia.  His media experience is evident and his first-rate leadership skills will be an asset to the whole team. On a personal note, I am very happy to see Nick return home,” added Tim.
