Southern Cross Austereo promotes Dave Cameron to general manager of Melbourne

Southern Cross Austereo has appointed head of national content and development, David Cameron, to the newly created role of general manager of Melbourne.

Cameron has worked with SCA for more than 20 years, in content roles including Fox FM for 11 years, Hit, 2DayFM, and Triple M.

More recently, he was responsible for national shows and talent management across SCA’s FM and DAB+ networks.

He was tasked with creating new partnerships and ventures with SCA’s brands and networks through content, including major live concert series ‘RnB Fridays Live.’

In his new role, Cameron will continue to lead SCA’s national talent development unit and digital radio strategy.

Cameron said he was looking forward to taking on the broader management role in Melbourne.

“Melbourne has been the home of so many of SCA’s biggest and best shows, and I’m proud to be working alongside all our amazingly creative and dedicated Melbourne staff who are responsible for bringing our audiences great audio and visual entertainment,” he said.

John Kelly, chief operating officer at SCA said of the promotion: “Dave is ideally suited to this new leadership role in Melbourne. He brings his extensive experience and expertise in content across a number of SCA businesses in several locations. ”

Cameron will report directly to Kelly from 1 July.
