Southern Cross Austereo’s Grant Blackley becomes CRA chair

The CEO and managing director of Southern Cross Austereo, Grant Blackley, has been named as the new chair of Commercial Radio Australia (CRA).

Blackley replaces the CEO of Macquarie Media, Adam Lang, who stepped down as the chair of the CRA after four years.

Blackley is now the chair of the CRA board

Lang will remain on the board and keep his role as the chair of CRA’s Research Committee.

“The commercial radio industry is a dynamic and innovative multiplatform medium and I look forward to working collaboratively as Chair of CRA with all key stakeholders including the networks and station members, industry commentators and observers as well as key political and government agencies,” Blackley said in a statement.

In other changes to the CRA board, Grant Cameron resigned from his position as director of Grant Broadcasters Group and vice-chairman of CRA’s Regional Committee, after 12 years.

Alison Cameron will replace Cameron on the CRA board.

Meanwhile, Ciaran Davis, managing director and CEO of Australian Radio Network and HT&E has returned to the CRA board and will replace outgoing ARN CEO Rob Atkinson.
