Special Group joins Qantas roster with campaign for new business suite

Special Group has landed a spot on the Qantas roster, with the creative agency working on the airline’s campaign promoting the new Business Suite on the refurbished Qantas’ Airbus 330.

The spot, which launches this Sunday, features a woman struggling to stay awake, her eyelids fluttering as the shot zooms out to reveal she is enjoying the comfort of the new Qantas A330 Business Suite with fully flat bed.

Running on SBS and pay TV channels, the campaign is complemented by street furniture and selected airport holdings. It will also run across digital and Qantas social and owned channels.

Special Group launched an Australian office in June last year, poaching Whybin\TBWA executive creative directors Dave Bowman and Matty Burton as founding creative partners in September.

The agency joins Lawrence Creative Strategy, the agency behind the airline’s latest brand push, R\GA, 303Lowe Sydney and The Hallway on the Qantas roster. OMD were appointed to handle the airline’s media account in December.
