Spinach replaces Durex with Ansell Condoms
Spinach Advertising, which handled the Durex account for almost a decade until last year, has been awarded advertising duties for rival condom maker Ansell Healthcare.
The STW Group-owned Melbourne agency lost the Durex business to Euro RSCG in November 2010 after a global realignment – Durex owner SSL International was acquired by Euro client Reckitt Benckiser.
Spinach will work across Ansell’s sexual health and wellbeing brands, with a focus on brand strategy and creative campaign development.
Ansell’s associate director, sales and marketing, ANZ, Nicole Adey said: “With such a trusted and respected reputation, combined with innovations that are truly re-shaping the category, we are really pleased to be partnering with passionate teams like Spinach who share our ambitions.”
I’m looking forward to seeing what they do with this account, if they thought about testing the campaigns I’d love to be the researcher for them, trust me safe sex market research groups can be hard (yes pun intended) but a hell of a lot of fun

They are getting smashed by Astroglide Personal Lubricant in that category. Further several new products (ie 2 in 1) were a flop and the grocery channels are not happy.
