Sportsbet’s production team departs to launch new agency
Two of Sportsbet’s senior in-house producers have stepped out on their own on the back of the success working for the betting agency.
Director Dan Howe and designer and animator Wen Shi have set up the new independent production business, Set To Suite, as a modular agency focused on filling a gap in mid- to high-end production needs of advertisers.
Howe told Mumbrella the agency was designed to be able to adapt to the needs of clients with a scalable model.
“As creatives first we don’t compromise on quality; this is about helping brands and agencies get as much out of their production dollar as possible,” Howe said.
“We have just finished our last work with Sportsbet and still have a good relationship with them. Wen and Myself have a great relationship and the way we work together is no different to a writer/art director relationship which is rare in production.”
The newly-formed agency also has its eyes on work emerging from China.
“Brands know they need to have video content; however, when they do the math for longer-form or multiple, short-form pieces, standard TVC budgets are unrealistic,” Howe said.
“Our approach is modular, besides giving ourselves a nice little buzzword to throw around it means we are set up to adapt.”

The agency is already working with an emerging trampoline company, Vuly, based in Queensland, and has completed a project for Toyota through its agency Gemba.
