Spotlight extends partnership with Starlight Children’s Foundation

Spotlight has been announced as the 2024 Official Creativity Partner of Starlight Children’s Foundation for the third consecutive year.

Starlight’s programs encourage fun and creativity, helping to distract children from their illness and treatment. Spotlight will continue to supply a range of art, craft, and party supplies to Starlight Express Rooms – medical-free spaces that provide respite for over 6,400 sick children and their families nationwide.

“As the Official Creativity Partner, Spotlight is delighted to have donated an additional $75,000 to Starlight for craft, party and DIY supplies used in the Starlight Express Rooms across Australia to continue to champion self-expression and creativity for everybody,” said Padma Palani, head of marketing at Spotlight.

The retail giant will also support Starlight’s Wishgranting Program throughout May, which provides once-in-a-lifetime experiences to sick children and their families, from holidays to celebrity meet and greets.

Starlight CEO Louise Baxter thanked Spotlight for “bringing happiness to sick kids and their families when they need it the most”.

“Supporting our hospital programs with endless arts and crafts allows seriously ill children to just be kids and enjoy the joy of childhood through imagination and creativity,” Baxter added.

Spotlight customers can also directly donate up to $100 to Starlight at stores across Australia.

Last year, Starlight created over 1.9 million positive experiences for children, teenagers, and their families and granted 474 wishes to sick children.
