Sputnik Sydney continues growth with new appointments

Sputnik is continuing to grow its Sydney office with the creation of two new account director roles.

Chris Coward

Chris Coward

The digital agency has appointed Chris Coward, previously Publicis Digital senior producer, to assist in new business and manage the Johnson & Johnson and Google accounts.

Sputnik was awarded J&J’s sweetener brand Splenda at the end of last year.

In another new appointment, Gemma Geraint, previously at digital agency De-construct, has been brought in to handle the Sanitarium and the Export Finance and Insurance Corporation (EFIC) accounts.

Geraint started at De-construct’s London office in 2004 and was then relocated to help establish the agency’s Amsterdam operations in 2008. Her role as head of project management saw her lead a number of global digital programs for clients including Nokia, Adidas and Grolsch.

Coward and Geraint will report to director Rodd Messent, who left Amnesia last year to take on the responsibility of leading and growing Sputnik’s Sydney office.

Sputnik first opened in Melbourne in 1998 and has since expanded to Adelaide and Sydney, now employing a team of over 80 staff.
