Star Observer editor Elias Jahshan quits after two-and-a-half years to move to London

Elias JahshanThe editor of LGBTI news publication The Star Observer Elias Jahshan is set to depart the newspaper in mid-April after two-and-a-half years editing the title.

Jahshan has said he is leaving the publication to move to London.

“I have cherished my time at the Star Observer, and will really miss the team. I have decided to follow a dream I have had for more than nine years – to live and work in London,” Jahshan said in a statement.

“The Star Observer is such a cultural icon for the LGBTI community, it has been a true honour to guide it through some amazing changes.”

The Star Observer is now seeking to appoint Jahshan’s replacement, with responsibilities spanning digital, print and social media content.

Chairman of the Star Observer, Sebastian Rice, said in a statement: “Looking back over the last two years, it is easy to be proud of what Elias and our team have achieved.

“Every organisation has key individuals, people who make a difference. Our editor, Elias Jahshan, has been at the heart of many of our recent achievements, including the successful launches of our monthly Star Observer Magazine and our upmarket Luxe lifestyle magazine.”
