Star Trek Beyond debuts with $4m in box office sales
The debut of Paramount film Star Trek Beyond has blasted Ghostbusters from the top spot at the Australian box office, pulling just over $4m in ticket sales over the weekend.
Ghostbusters’ second week in the cinemas saw it pull $2.4m, down from its opening week where it achieved $4.7m.
The Legend of Tarzan was third with $1.295m in sales, while supernatural horror film Lights Out debuted with $1.2m.
Children’s film Finding Dory fell to fifth place with $960,000; however, the film has taken more than $45m since it was released, making it one of the biggest releases of 2016.
