Starcom appoints Carl Hillery as investment director

Starcom has appointed Carl Hillery as its new Investment Director.

The announcement:

Starcom has further strengthened its Sydney team with the appointment of Carl Hillery as Investment Director.

Reporting to National Investment Director Nicole Turley, Hillery has more than fifteen years experience in media beginning his career in the broadcast department of MEC London.

As media group head Hillery left MEC to help form the TV department of BJK&E (now Maxus) rising to the position of Broadcast Account Director.

Turley praised Hillery’s expertise and described him as an expert in both broadcast media and client relationships.

“We have a large and diverse client mix in Sydney, and with this in mind, we need to ensure we have senior thought leaders as we build our investment credentials, and help our clients along the journey of innovation, digital and technology,” Turley said.

“Carl has a wealth of media planning / buying and negotiation experience across myriad blue chip businesses including Mercedes Benz, British Telecom, Fiat and the Financial Times.”

Hillery will be working alongside Investment Directors Luke Hutchinson and Emma Smallwood.

“I am really excited to have Luke, Carl and Emma as the leads of our investment team in Sydney. We have a great team and a really big year planned for 2014,” Turley said.
