Starcom gets arty

Starcom Mediavest Group has installed three pieces of art into its Walsh Bay head office in support of its collaboration with Art Month.

The announcement:

March 16, 2011 –

Starcom’s partnership with Art Month, which celebrates the city’s thriving contemporary visual arts scene, involves guiding communications for the month long event to Sydneysiders, as well as the subsequent media support and installation of three artworks in its office.

Sydney Managing Director Bob Goodge said: “We are a proud partner of Art Month, which is such an important event for artists to showcase their work in different locations throughout Sydney. This partnership was of great importance to Starcom, as we saw it as an opportunity to encourage creative thinking for our staff and clients.”

For the month of March, three artworks have been installed in its Walsh Bay head office to bring a taste of the event to Starcom. This is part of Starcom’s commitment to its ‘Space for ideas’ initiative, which prides itself on creating a culture based around fresh thinking and opportunities to live out new and different experiences.

Goodge said: “Three artworks have been installed in our office to provide a thought provoking and inspirational experience for our staff. We believe that this installation will reinforce our commitment to creating an environment that encourages creativity and for people to see things from a different perspective that we can ultimately use in our business and for our clients.”

Running throughout March, Art Month Sydney is hosted by more than 80 participating galleries and venues throughout Sydney and features more than 120 exhibitions.

Of the three installations, one of the more popular pieces is ‘TARDIS’ (Time And Relative Dimensions In Space); the space ship that made it possible for Dr Who to travel to any place within any time period.

In addition to ‘TARDIS’, two artworks by Lisa Jones will also be on display including Replicators I 2010, colour pencil, framed and Replicators – New Order II 2010, colour pencil, framed.
