Start VR partners with Jungle, aims to bring Australian VR ‘to the world’

Sydney-based production company Jungle has announced a partnership with Australian virtual reality company Start VR to offer expertise to local advertising agencies, with hopes to push Australian VR talent internationally.

The announcement follows the launch of Start VR’s virtual technology app for Qantas last Friday.

Jungle and Start VR will work in a co-production partnership, using Start VR’s understanding of narrative storytelling with Jungle’s craftsmanship and experience directing talent.

Nick Simkins, executive producer of commercials at Jungle, said the partnership will help agencies and clients use the expertise of both companies to create successful branded virtual reality experiences.

“We’re incredibly excited to be partnering with one of the leading VR producers in the country. They’re an inspiring company and we’re incredibly impressed by their passion, expertise and drive to be one of the world’s leading VR producers,” Simkins said.

“The level of R&D that they are undertaking is unrivaled in the commercial space in Australia, and we’re thrilled to be able to provide an offering to agencies and clients that combines their VR creative and production expertise with our directors and their creative vision.’

The collaboration will allow for increased commercial work for ad agencies on VR platforms.

Nathan Anderson, co-founder and executive producer at Start VR hopes the collaboration will allow Australian VR to be recognised across the globe.

“Jungle are one of the most respected, creative and talented production houses in Australia and we are thrilled to be partnering with them,” Anderson said.

“The VR industry has matured and this partnership represents combining the best teams and talent available. It is collaborations like this that we hope will bring Australian VR to the world.”
