State of Origin match two claims 2.380m metro viewers
State of Origin’s second match saw Queensland beat NSW, by two points attracting a metro audience of 2.380m, slightly up on the first match.
The first match at the end of May saw NSW dominate 24-4 with an audience of 2.348m, according to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary metro ratings.
State of Origin took the top three spots in the ratings ladder with the pre-match pulling in 1.446m viewers while the post-match managed 1.201m metro viewers, despite only airing in Sydney and Brisbane.
The match was the most-watched program across key advertising demographics 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54.
Nine saw massive share of 38.3% beating Seven’s 14%, Ten’s 10.7% share, ABC’s 9.3% and SBS’ 3.4%.
Meanwhile Ten’s Masterchef averaged 761,000 viewers.
Seven News at 6pm was the most watched non-sport program, attracting a metro audience of 1.109m ahead of Nine News’ 1.002m.
