Storyful’s Ebonie Newman promoted to global chief revenue officer

News Corp owned Storyful has promoted its Asia Pacific director of sales Ebonie Newman to the role of global chief revenue officer.

She replaces Sharb Farjami, who was appointed to global head of the social media news agency just weeks after joining Storyful as chief revenue officer.

Newman began her role at Storyful in January 2015, and prior to that held roles at News Corp Australia for over a decade, in roles such as group sales director and group sales manager.

As part of her appointment, Newman will relocate from Sydney to New York in November, and will oversee sales and marketing efforts for the business.

News Corp Australia’s chief digital officer Nicole Sheffield said she couldn’t be more delighted about Newman’s promotion.

“Ebonie has done an outstanding job leading Storyful’s commercial business across the Asia Pacific region for three years. Her promotion is a testament to her talent and the excellent work she has done here in Australia,” Sheffield said.

Newman said she was looking forward to helping grow Storyful on a global scale.

“The unique technological capabilities and talent we have within the business allows Storyful to do incredible work with media partners, marketers and agencies. The business has a bright future as we continue to grow and evolve our offering. I could not be more proud and excited to help guide the team on this journey,” Newman said.
