Submissions now open for Mumbrella360 session and speaker proposals
Mumbrella has launched its call for speakers and session proposals for next year’s Mumbrella360 conference.
And in a new initiative for 2017, any organisation or individual whose session proposal is accepted will be able to invite up to 40 clients or colleagues to see the session.
Mumbrella360 takes place in Sydney in just seven months, with a networking afternoon on June 6 and the conference on June 7 and 8.
The conference is Australia’s largest media and marketing event, with its audited attendance rising to 1,920 in 2016. And in September, Mumbrella360 was named Conference of the Year for the second time at the Australian Event Awards.
A key component of Mumbrella360 – which includes four simultaneous streams of presentations, plus a separate program of masterclasses and a series of round tables – is the high level of industry participation.
Previous industry-curated sessions have included the live creation of a media manifesto for the industry, Guinness World Record attempts, game shows as well as a plethora of high-level panels discussing key industry issues.
Those who successfully submit session proposals – and usually only about one-in-10 are accepted – are able to curate their own 45-minute session according to their own vision.
Details of how to propose speakers and sessions are available via this link. The call for submissions is open until Monday January 16, 2017.
Mumbrella crew, I have a special request.
I’ve attended these events and similar before and feedback personally and from others I have spoken to if that is it a lot of fluff. The ideas are cool, there are innovative thoughts BUT everything is disconnected from what is happening within our industry on a day to day basis.
We need speakers who are prepared to call a spade a spade, those who can get up an run a session on the real issues facing the industry: the shorterm-ism, the tech nightmares, the obsession with shiny things and the general lack of people to deliver.
There are some massive revenue and success inhibiting issues in the industry and people need to acknowledge these and contribute to fixing them.
