Suncorp Super Netball Series goes prime time with Kayo

The Suncorp Super Netball Series will enter a groundbreaking new era this weekend as it makes its debut with every game of the 2022 season available to stream live, on-demand and ad-break free during play on Kayo.

Netball is the latest edition to Kayo’s line-up of women’s sport, including the ICC Women’s World Cup. Launching this weekend, the 2022 Suncorp Super Netball Series will also see every Sunday of the competition, as well as all finals and the grand final available to stream for free via Kayo Freebies, while all Saturday games will be shown for the first time in prime time slots.

Earlier this month, the popularity of women’s sport is on a strong growth trajectory, according to the latest figures released by Fox Sports.

To mark the arrival of the Australian netball competition, Kayo yesterday hosted a launch event with NSW Swifts co-captains Maddy Proud and Paige Hadley alongside Giants Netball Captain Jo Harten as they prepare to go head-to-head in this weekend’s season opening Sydney derby clash.

Netball’s new home on Fox Sports and Kayo will allow fans to enjoy a number of broadcast innovations, including microphones now covering the nets, umpires and players, and an aero shot camera showing the position of play.

Viewers who miss the start of any game will have the choice to stream live or start the match from the beginning with Kayo’s ‘From Start’ feature, while the ‘No Spoilers’ function enables fans to catch up on the action without knowing the result.

Fans can also stream the netball action alongside their other favourite sports on Kayo with ‘SplitView’, while the best on-air team in the business will provide expert analysis from start to finish alongside new magazine shows ‘Pivot’ and ‘Centre Circle’. ‘Kayo Minis’ will be available for every game, recapping the action in 20 minutes, as well as ‘Kayo Classic Minis’ recapping iconic games from the archives.

With Kayo, fans can instantly catch every game of every round Live and on-demand from just $25 per month on Kayo Basic.

NSW Swifts’ Maddy Proud said: “I think the derby is something special and a game you really look forward to each year. I can’t wait for the weekend and hopefully we do get a sell out crowd and relive last year’s Grand Final with hopefully a similar result.”

Giants Netball’s Jo Harten said: “There is always a bit of spice in the NSW derby but for me I’m just looking forward to kicking off season 2022 and getting stuck in and getting in front of our home crowd.”
