Sunrise weather man shows what happens on cold mornings
It’s tough covering an event full of naked people such as today’s Spencer Tunick photo shoot at the Sydney Opera House.
If you don’t join in, you look like a prude. And if you do, well, Sunrise’s Grant Denyer demonstrated there isn’t much room to hide.
Hats off to him.
The rest of the media just sat behind their zoom lenses, everyone had a good laugh at him and he got a good round of applause on the way back.
He’s raised his profile a bit… and it was freezing! I can vouch for that!

From crowd (as I was) it was clear that Grant was covering the event ‘topless’ but still wearing his jeans. General crowd consensus was that this approach was condescending . By stripping off Grant Denyar showed he genuinely cared about the story and that Sunrise was interested in more than voyeurism. Crowd feeling changed immediately with all cheering for Denyar. I applaud him for taking part. He was a stand-out amongst a very large media pack

A great branding exercise for Grant Denyer and Seven.
Being on the steps that day in the crowd, I agree with Allison that most people saw it, helped cheer Grant on for embracing the spirit of the event and subsequently talked about him. That’s 5,000 people who found out who Grant Denyer was, (if they didn’t know already), the network he was from and probably shared the story with myriad other friends and family.

Well done Grant, it is shame the vision has been removed, I have never enjoyed the cosiness of Sunrise any way!
