Superbowl ads come good in the end
The Superbowl – the world’s biggest TV advertising showcase – wasn’t a washout after all, with NBC bringing in more than US$200m in the end.
At the time of posting, the game is nearly over. Live blogging of the ads as they go out in the US is available here. An unscientific dip into the Twitterstream, suggests that Alec Baldwin’s ad for online TV service Hulu – “Because we’re aliens, and that’s how we roll” – is among the most talked-about:

I wasn’t entirely sold on the ads this year… some goodies (Bridgestone / potatoheads was fun), but on the whole, the creative just didn’t seem to live up to the reputation Superbowl ads traditionally have (but I’m getting old and cynical :D)
