Telstra leans back into ‘wherever we go’ campaign

Telstra has invested in a new integrated campaign to kick off the next phase of its “wherever we go” platform.
Developed and executed by its bespoke creative agency +61 with Bear Meets Eagle on Fire , the “Together builds better” campaign is designed to reposition Telstra as the preferred telco partner for government and enterprise.
Its 30-second hero film, created with film and experience design studio Nexus Studios and animator Johnny Kelly, takes viewers into a Playschool-esque diorama where several people place down infrastructure to create a fully developed, functional world.
“Underpinned by leading connectivity, what Telstra and its enterprise partners are building together is really exciting,” Alexandra Stickler, +61 client partner, said in a media release.
“With that spirit in mind, we set out to create a campaign that matched that ambition – one that moves beyond the literal and ventures into something far more imaginative.”
Bear Meets Eagle on Fire’s chief creative officer Micah Walker spoke highly of the platform.
“With the right partner anything is possible,” he said in the same release. “This campaign is a celebration of the power of imagination and collaboration at scale.”
In addition to the film, the campaign makes use of social, radio and out-of-home assets.
“Telstra partners with enterprise and government organisations who share our ambition to create a better, more connected future for all,” Telstra Enterprise’s head of marketing, Karinne Limberiou, said in the release.
“From making schools across Australia smarter, reinventing manufacturing or making communities safer, we believe that together builds better.”
The “Wherever we go” campaign has been a resounding victory for Telstra, with research from consultancy Cubery finding that Australians deemed it the most unforgettable ad. In August, the telco added some Hollywood talent to its advertising catalogue, with a campaign fronted by Wednesday and Sopranos star Steve Buscemi.
