The announcement:
Cheese on Toast Productions together with Suicide Prevention Australia is proud to present the charity event screening of SYD2030 including the much anticipated VIP world première of episode 12 on the 16th of August 2012 in Eastern Sydney (of course)!
The 12-part webseries that depicts the lives and scandals of everybody’s favourite University of Eastern Sydney Law Students will be shown at Event Cinemas, Bondi Junction. The event will be hosted by Sydney’s funniest community radio hosts Dave and Neil from Alive 90.5. All the red carpet action kicks off at 7:00pm, where fans are invited to mingle with the cast and creators of SYD2030. The screening will begin at 7:30 sharp and let me tell you, you won’t believe how ends…
Cheese on Toast Productions chose to have the launch of episode 12 affiliated with Suicide Prevention Australia, because it is a charity that is close to their hearts. Tatjana Alexis, writer, co-director and actress in SYD2030 is particularly passionate about the cause – “SYD2030 depicts the highs and lows of studying law and living in Sydney, and how hard it actually can be. We hoped by depicting these themes that it would help create awareness in a young international audience. What Suicide Prevention Australia is doing is so unbelievably important, if we can help be a voice to one person who needs us, that is better than any webseries or film that I will ever produce.”
Cheeses on Toast Productions are sharing their success with Suicide Prevention Australia, with a portion of all proceeds from the night going to the charity.
SYD2030 has already proved to be a hit, with great international success and exposure. SYD2030 has won ‘Best International Webseries’ at the LA Film, TV and Webisode Festival, and was nominated in the Drama category at the International Television Festival. Locally, SYD2030 has screened at the opening night of Indie Gems Film Festival where they won a prestigious editing
package from Spectrum Films Australia.Bridget or Lara – who does Cameron choose? Be the first to find out all!
