Sydney Confidential to refresh as it celebrates a decade

The Daily Telegraph’s Sydney Confidential will tomorrow undergo a refresh and double in size as it marks its ten year anniversary.

The announcement:

Sydney and New South Wales’ leading showbiz and entertainment news and gossip site The Daily Telegraph’s Sydney Confidential is celebrating its 10th birthday.

To celebrate its first decade, The Daily Telegraph is rolling out the red carpet in true Confidential style, recalling the best of the past ten years while keeping one eye very closely on the future. As part of the birthday celebrations, from Tuesday August 24th Sydney Confidential is undergoing a refresh both in paper and online as it looks towards the next decade and beyond.

This refresh will include an increase from two to four pages daily, plus an expanded outlook to include added international, fashion and music coverage. The new-look section will also see the introduction of the Sydney Confidential red carpet, rolled out exclusively at the best and brightest celebrity parties and occasions.

And as part of an increased focus on multi platform activity, Sydney Confidential’s online presence at www.sydneyconfidential.com.au will be substantially expanded to include a video rich channel featuring web exclusive news, gossip and entertainment stories.

Video content will be extended with the launch of ‘CTV’ a daily webisode featuring the behind- the-scenes reporting that goes into breaking the greatest celebrity and entertainment stories before anyone else.

The site will also undergo a complete refresh featuring a new logo, new colour palette, and higher production qualities, in addition to the introduction of new dedicated Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Coinciding with the international spotlight on our city brought by the Olympics, The Daily Telegraph Sydney Confidential was created in 2000 as a two-page section to meet readers’ growing appetite for the inside stories on Australia’s biggest celebrity names.

Since this auspicious start, Sydney Confidential has cemented its place as the must-read destination for local and international celebrity news, gossip and information, developing a uniquely irreverent and sometimes controversial style.

The legacy of this success has seen Sydney Confidential, pave the way for a true multimedia brand that has spread nationally across newspapers, magazines, online and TV.

Daily Telegraph Editor, Garry Linnell comments: “Due to the strength of its editorial content and consistently uncompromising approach, Sydney Confidential has defined the celebrity landscape in Australia since its launch. Love it or loathe it, you can’t be without it, making Sydney Confidential the only choice to uncover the freshest celebrity news and gossip.”

Simon Davies, Head of Print OMD adds. “Sydney Continental Confidential has succeeded in uncovering the most up to date and surprising celebrity news and entertainment without fail over the last decade. This accomplishment has rightfully earned the site its place as the number one destination for brands who wish to connect with the young, affluent and engaged audience it constantly delivers.”
