Taboola gains ‘authorised advertising reseller’ status for Apple

Taboola is now “an authorised advertising reseller for Apple”, allowing it to use the company’s Stocks and News apps for selling/reselling advertising.

The announcement:

Taboola, a global leader in powering recommendations for the open web, has announced a major deal with international tech giant, Apple, to power native advertising within its Apple News and Apple Stocks apps.

Key points:

– Taboola is now an authorized Advertising Reseller for Ads on Apple News and Apple Stocks.
– Taboola is now powering native advertising within these apps, in all markets where the apps are available.
– These apps are available across Apple devices—on iPhone, iPad, and Mac
– Millions of people use these apps to access quality journalism from a variety of top publications, and feeds curated by editors.
– Apple News is the most used news app in the US, UK, Canada, Australia
– This enables top brands and agencies to reach premium audiences which is part of Taboola’s strategy.

Under the new partnership, Taboola will be listed as an authorised advertising reseller for Apple, enabling it to sell and resell advertising on Apple’s popular News and Stocks apps.

As part of the deal, Taboola will sell ads within the main feeds across both apps, along with articles for a select set of publishers. It will enable Taboola to power native advertising placements within the two apps in every available market, including the US, the UK, Canada and Australia.

Apple News is the most used news app globally and is built into every iPhone, iPad and Mac. Millions of people use the app daily to access quality journalism from a variety of top local, national and global publications, while also taking advantage of feeds curated by editors.

The partnership will allow Apple to harness Taboola’s significant market share, global footprint and long-standing relationships with top brands and agencies to reach premium audiences.

Currently, Taboola works with more than 9,000 publishers, selling native ad space to more than 18,000 advertisers globally.

Taboola is one of just a handful of third-party vendors authorised to sell ads for Apple. Before working with Taboola, Apple had a deal with NBCUniversal to sell ads for Apple Stocks and Apple News in the US and the UK.

The partnership follows other major contracts for Taboola, including a 30-year native advertising partnership with Yahoo, inked late last year.
