Taboo’s Matilda Hobba promoted to GM

Experience-led creative agency Taboo has promoted Matilda Hobba to general manager.

Hobba joined the agency in 2016 as client services director. The appointment will see founder and managing director Andrew Mackinnon focus on the company’s expansion plans.

“Tilly’s promotion to GM reflects the value she’s brought to the agency and the respect she has from our team and clients. Tilly leads with authority and empathy in perfect measures and we couldn’t be more excited to have her at the helm,” said Mackinnon, with whom Hobba will work alongside to run the agency’s day-to-day operations.

Added Hobba: “Taboo is an agency I truly believe in. It creates ideas that live in the real world and that people genuinely want to participate in – and it operates in an honest, energetic and culturally-connected way. The last three years have been about refining the way we do things and who we do it with – and we’re ready to take what we’ve built and hurl it with full force into the next chapter.”

Taboo works with clients such as Telstra, Bonds, Haagen-Dazs and the Victorian Government, and worked with Mecca to create beauty festival Meccaland.
