Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation returns with 678,000 viewers

Nine’s reboot of intergenerational game show Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation premiered with 678,000 metro viewers last night, according to preliminary overnight ratings from OzTam.

The show is a reboot of a game show which aired on Ten from 2009 to 2012. When it launched in 2009, the show proved a hit for Ten.

Micallef is back

However, Nine’s Shaun Micallef-hosted reboot failed to win its time slot, proving unable to beat Ten’s Masterchef Australia, which achieved 800,000 viewers.

Seven’s House Rules also beat the reboot in the same time slot, with 740,000 metro viewers – the show’s biggest weekday episode of 2018.

Ten’s game show Have You Been Paying Attention? also beat Nine’s reboot, which achieved 805,000 in its later 8.30pm time slot.

Have You Been Paying Attention? came top in key advertising demographics 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54.

The news dominated the Monday night ratings, with Nine’s program achieving 1.068m metro viewers – the show’s highest weekday bulletin so far in 2018.

Seven followed close behind, with its news program achieving 1.064m viewers.

Despite having the two highest rated entertainment programs, Ten failed to beat either Seven or Nine in overall audience share. Seven won a 17.9% main channel share, Nine collected 18.2%, while Ten came in third place with 16.1%.

ABC achieved a 13.5% main channel share, while SBS managed a main channel share of 5.4%, after none of its shows appeared in the top 20.
