Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation to return to Nine on 1 May

Nine’s revitalised Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation will return to screens on May 1 for a second season, with long-time host Shaun Micallef and team captains Robyn Butler, Andy Lee and Laurence Boxhall reprising their roles from season one.

The show found a new home on Nine in 2018 after a four season run on Ten from 2009.

Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation is a one-hour gameshow format which sees three generational teams tackle quizzes and challenges for points awarded by Micallef. Each episode the team captains, Butler, Lee and Boxhall, are joined by a celebrity partner or partners.

The first episode will see Gold FM radio host Christian O’Connell, The Veronicas and actor Angourie Rice join the Generation X, Y and Z teams.

The 2018 season consisted of eight episodes, with the first premiering to 678,000 metro viewers. That number had dwindled to 396,000 by the final episode.

During the show’s run on Ten in 2010 it was regularly bringing in over 1 million viewers. By 2012 that had dropped to the mid-600,000s. In 2010 the show also won Most Popular and Most Outstanding Light Entertainment at the Logie Awards, and Micallef won Most Popular Presenter.

Original team captains Amanda Keller, Charlie Pickering and Josh Thomas did not rejoin the show when it moved to Nine in 2018.

Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation will return on Wednesday May 1 at 7.30pm on Nine.
