Target appoints Coles’ Mat Medcalf as head of digital marketing

Target-(1)Target has appointed Coles’ senior digital marketing lead for integrated channels Mat Medcalf as head of digital marketing.

Medcalf takes up the role after just over two years at Coles, firstly as the senior digital marketing manager for mobile, social media and innovation and for the last 10 months as the senior digital marketing lead for integrated channels.

Prior to Coles, Medcalf worked as an independent consultant for four months after leaving tgarage where he was the director of client services for just over a year and a half. From February 2009 to March 2011 Medcalf was the general manager of digital agency The White Agency.

A Target spokesperson confirmed the appointment, telling Mumbrella: “Mat Medcalf has joined Target as Head of Digital Marketing, reporting into Peter Mitchley-Hughes, General Manager Target.com.au. Mat has come to Target from Coles, where he most recently held the role of Senior Digital Marketing Lead – Integrated Channels.”
