TBWA’s Jill Manester joins M&C Saatchi Melbourne as head of strategy
TBWA Melbourne’s strategic partner Jill Manester has been appointed as M&C Saatchi Melbourne’s head of strategy.
Manester is returning to M&C Saatchi in the newly created role, having previously worked at the agency in London, Paris and Melbourne as a senior strategist between 2003 and 2006.
Most recently, Manester was a strategic planner at TBWA Melbourne for nearly two years. She has also worked at SapientNitro and The Campaign Palace.
Justin Graham, chief strategy officer at M&C Saatchi, said in a statement: “Meeting Jill, I was immediately struck by her curiosity and sheer excitement for advertising. I can’t wait to see her get stuck in leading our strategy offering in Melbourne as well as contributing to the broader strategic leadership team.”
Andy Cairns, managing director at M&C Saatchi, said Manester is the kind of strategist the industry needs right now.
“Data savvy, commercially astute, massively collaborative and, most important of all, a lover of great work. Her pedigree and category experience are as rare as hen’s teeth.”
Manester said it was “a good time to be going home”.
“M&C Saatchi is one of those rare agencies where creativity and commercial nous happily co-exist – along with a good dose of chutzpah and style. That makes it hard to shake,” she said.
