Telstra and The Monkeys show off Apple’s ‘magic’ in latest campaign
The Monkeys has released the agency’s latest campaign for Telstra for its Apple range of products.
Featuring Triple J Unearthed artist Thelma Plum, who also performs the backing track, the 60 second commercial shows the musician using her iPhone and Apple Watch to synchronise dance routines and light shows as she walks to the shops.
Back in the “good old days” there used be a joke about a special function key that when pressed on the computer autotragically spat out “Never before in the history of …”
Seems it has changed and now says “We are thrilled to …” or alternatively, “We are so excited to be …”.
Everything in that ad have been done or demonstrated by any other non-Apple phone. Event the smart-watch could have been substituted with another brand. Nothing in that ad would convince me to use either Apple or Telstra…
Overrated af
The Monkeys are hands down the most overrated creative agency. No wonder Telstra has remained one of the most bland brands in Australia with these guys in charge of their creative direction
I’m clearly getting old. I thought “wow The Monkeys. I thought they split up years ago and Davey Jones died.” Pretty boring ad actually.
Are they trolling their subscribers when you still can’t get an cellular Apple Watch working with a business account???
What an odd choice of woman for the ad. [Edited under Mumbrella’s comment moderation policy]
