Ten holds onto 847,000 for Masterchef as Nine wins the night with 1.896m for The Voice

Masterchef 2014Ten held onto 847,000 metro viewers for the second episode of Masterchef last night, despite The Voice on Nine dominating the timeslot with 1.896m metro viewers.

Meanwhile House Rules on Seven averaged an audience of 951,000, putting Masterchef third in the 7.30pm timeslot, preliminary overnight metro ratings from OzTam show.

Masterchef was ninth in all programs, while House Rules was eighth, with The Voice the most popular program of the night by far.

However Masterchef was more popular than House Rules in Sydney and Melbourne, and its ratings were stronger than Seven’s widely promoted US import Resurrection. Resurrection averaged 713,000, a significant fall since its premiere to 1.9m on March 25, and was second in the 9pm timeslot as Nine’s US sitcom with Anna Faris, Mom, which averaged 740,000. NCIS on Ten was fourth in the 9pm timeslot with 644,000 as a New Tricks repeat averaged 702,000 on ABC1.
