Ten launches tenplay Xbox One app

Network Ten has launched a tenplay app for the Xbox One platform making video on demand available through the gaming console.

The announcement:

Network Ten today unveiled the tenplay Xbox One app, the first commercial free-to-air network app to launch alongside the new Xbox One console.

The tenplay platform – which is already available on web, mobile, tablets and smart TVs – will provide Xbox One users with access to Network Ten’s catch-up video platform and unique live streaming experiences.

Audiences will be able to access TEN, ELEVEN and ONE shows on-demand, live stream news and sporting events and earn exclusive artwork and badges by watching their favourite shows.

Viewers can also take advantage of the features offered by Xbox One to navigate the app with their voice or gestures via Kinect, and watch programming at the same time as playing games or using other apps.

The tenplay Xbox One launch is the latest addition to Network Ten’s TV everywhere strategy, which launched in September this year. Further products and services are in development, including a dedicated app for the upcoming XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, in February 2014.

Network Ten Chief Digital Officer, Rebekah Horne, said: “tenplay extends the traditional television watching experience by offering personalised, cross-platform content delivery, designed with the user experience as the top priority. It’s the perfect catch-up platform, giving people a way to access our content wherever and whenever they choose.

“tenplay has been a hit with consumers since it launched and we’re delighted to be able to offer Xbox One users the tenplay experience,” she said.
