Ten promotes Sophie Hicks Lloyd to director of digital sales

Network Ten has set its sights firmly on digital with the promotion of Sophie Hicks Lloyd to director of digital sales.

Prior to her promotion into the newly-created role, Hicks Lloyd was head of content, marketing and commercial partnerships for the network. She will commence in the new role as of June 17 and report in to chief sales officer Rod Prosser.

In the director of digital sales role, Hicks Lloyd will be responsible for sales revenue across Ten’s digital platforms, including the live streaming and BVOD platform Ten Play, content platform Ten Daily and podcasting platform Ten Speaks.

Hicks Lloyd will also oversee Ten’s programmatic capability. The network also announced today it would be releasing its addressable TV offering to market as of July 1.

Prosser said Hicks Lloyd would spearhead the network’s digital commercial offerings during a very important time for the business.

“Digital continues to be a key area for our business and our digital platforms are, put simply, going off. The appointment of Sophie continues our focus on building digital sales capabilities to support our growing digital audience, investment in digital platforms and upcoming data launch,” said Prosser.

“Sophie is an exceptionally talented digital media sales professional and I’m really pleased to have her abilities focused in this important role.”

Hicks Lloyd joined Ten in 2016, leading up Ten Play’s marketing and content teams and handling the platforms commercial partnerships. Prior to her time at Ten, she was in digital strategy with BT Financial Group for four years. Before that role, Hicks Lloyd spent a decade with Fairfax in senior sales roles.

“Last year, Ten Play achieved its biggest year ever and in April, Ten Daily recorded its highest audience since it launched. I was fortunate to have played a key role in launching Ten Speaks earlier this year and can see amazing potential in the platform. I can’t wait to get started.”
