Ten wins with Masterchef on a quiet Thursday night
Ten came out on top last night in an otherwise quiet night of television, with Masterchef pulling 1.002m metro viewers at 7:30pm.
A Masterchef Masterclass episode that followed pulled 807,000, while 452,000 stayed on for Shark Tank at 9:40pm, down on last week’s audience of 595,000.
Seven’s Home and Away grabbed 645,000 at 7:00pm to be the most-watched non-news program of the evening after Masterchef. Nine felt the absence of its usual non-news drawcard RBT; the 7:30pm NRL broadcast attracted 316,000 viewers in Sydney and Brisbane.
In the news stakes Seven came in ahead of Nine, achieving 1.06m over 1.019m at 6:00pm; 983,000 stuck around to catch Seven’s Today Tonight at 6:30pm, out-rating Nine’s 6:30pm news, which drew 922,000. Ten’s The Project pulled 436,000 in the same time slot, while 603,000 tuned in to the program at 7:00pm.
In breakfast television, Seven’s Sunrise beat Nine’s Today, pulling 320,000 at 6:00am, ahead of 313,000.
By the end of the night Ten led the pack with 18.3% of audience share. Seven followed with 17.7%, with Nine at 16%. ABC finished with 11.2% and SBS with 6.1%.
