Ten wins Thursday TV battle with help from The Bachelor and Gogglebox

Ten has managed to out-rate its rival free to air channels on Thursday night, taking an overall audience share of 18.3% with the help of its flagship programs The Bachelor and Gogglebox.

According to OzTAM’s overnight metro ratings, The Bachelor was the most watched non-news program for the evening with 820,000 metro viewers tuning in.

It also managed to top the key advertising demographics 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54.

The Bachelor went up against Seven’s Home and Away, which attracted 536,000 metro viewers and Nine’s The Footy Show which managed 326,000 metro viewers across the three states it aired in.

Meanwhile, Ten’s television series Gogglebox also topped its time slot with 806,000 metro viewers.

Airing at 8.30pm, Gogglebox beat Seven’s 327,000 for The Front Bar.

For the other free to air channels, Nine managed a 17.7% share ahead of Seven’s 17.1%, ABC’s 11.7% and SBS’ 4.5% share.

In multichannel shares, 7TWO won the night with a 5.1% share.
