Tennis and MKR deliver huge weekly win for Seven

A blockbuster Australian Open Tennis final and the start of My Kitchen Rules have given the Seven Network a runaway win for the week in the unofficial ratings period.

MKR owned the week for Seven

Seven finished the week with a share of 27.4%, well ahead of Nine with 18.3% and Ten with 12.3%.

The men’s final between Roger Federer and Rapael Nadal drew a five city average audience of 2.668m to finish the week as the most watched show, while MKR was the third, fourth and sixth most watched show of the week with audiences all above the 1.1m mark.

Ten’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here opening night was the eighth most-watched show of the week with an audience 1.08m.

Nine’s week ended with Sunday Night News the most watched show on the network for the week with 1.111m, while Married at First Sight was the most popular general entertainment show of the week for Nine on Tuesday with 934,000.

Saturday night saw the ABC take top honours with Death in Paradise drawing 845,000 people ahead of Nine News at 6.30pm with 788,000.

Seven’s broadcast of Nitro Athletics at 7pm attracted 404,000 people while Nine’s movie Mall Cop at the same time drew 375,000.

Ten’s best general entertainment show for the evening was Hawaii Five-0 at 8.30pm with 203,000.
