Ten’s 7PM Project pushes past Seven’s prime time shows in Monday ratings

The 7PM Project, MumbrellaAs Ten’s Masterchef goes from strength to strength, The 7PM Project last night moved ahead of Seven’s prime time shows The Zoo and Find My Family.

Masterchef’s commanding lead of almost 1.7m average viewers, was well ahead of Nine’s big Monday show The Big Bang which had 1.2m, according to preliminary overnight OzTam data in the main metro markets.  

But arguably the bigger surprise of the night was how well Ten’s 7PM Project rated, with 966,000 average viewers – its best result in the year to date.

This was ahead of Seven’s The Zoo, albeit in the time slot half an hour later at 7:30pm, with 951,000 and Find My Family at 8pm with 957,000.

Last Monday, a public holiday, the two Seven shows were ahead of The 7PM Project.

The previous week, it was the reverse with the Ten show ahead. That week, the series return of Find My Family managed only 762,000 average viewers.

Among the morning shows, Nine’s Today show, which reported extensively on the results of the Logie Awards it had broadcast the night before, was ahead of Seven’s Sunrise, with 386,000 and 370,000 respectively.

Nine’s game show Hot Seat was also ahead of Seven’s Deal or No Deal with 722,000 and 648,000 respectively.
